I just remembered in the 50s/60s they imposed a beardless Jesus which in itself was kind of an anachronism.

Biblical Anachronisms in JW Literature
by neat blue dog inin a recent post ffghost made a comment about how they're always inserting modern concepts into biblical narratives to make it relatable to jw's organization.
here are some that come to mind:.
- the capitalized term "governing body" when referring to the older men in jerusalem (really just another group of christians that paul outspokenly disagreed with and didn't look to for approval).

LongHairGal:
Speaking of hair, why are some people wearing curlers the night before, have Farrah Fawcett hair or obviously got a perm recently depending on the decade? 😅
Also, how about the 1st century baptism pictures where their arms are still held the same and the family watches while laughing, smiling and politely clapping? All that's needed to add is taking selfies afterward.

- Jephthah's daughter entering full-time service after being encouraged by her friends (a deliberate mistranslation of her actual human sacrifice and the mourning that followed)
- paintings of early Christians going door to door with bookbags (even though they preached town to town, visited private homes only for food and lodging and were told specifically not to keep going house to house)
Can you think of any more?

No special privileges or permissions needed, as the fact is there was never a conflict of interest with serving in the military and being a Christian. Just ask baptized officer Cornelius! In the words of Peter, "Can anyone ... prevent these from being baptized who have received the holy spirit just as we have?"

How can the org instruct members not to do this if that is their "personal ministry" that has no legal connection to the org, as stated in the Elder's book to avoid liability?

Just like the free food boxes in 2020, it is entirely a government program. Except this has no WT participation at all, they're just directing people towards a public website.
